How long have you lived in Cairns? 8 years.

What’s the best thing about your job? Creating beautiful hair and seeing my great friends and clients.

What is the funniest thing that has happened to you at work? There are a few of those. When I was working on the Phantom Menace (StarWars) movie in London, the crew told me on my fi rst day I would be styling Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor, so I got pretty excited. After waiting two hours in make-up they arrived but they were two hairy eight-foot monsters to groom. Everybody thought it was side splitting.

Favourite place to visit in Far North Queensland? The Tableland makes me feel like I am far away.

When was the last time you visited the Great Barrier Reef? At least 12 months ago, too long considering I am a dive Instructor.

Where is your favourite place to dine in the Far North? Still searching but there is plenty of good food around.

What inspires you the most? Art, live performance, my children, my husband, talented and wise people (in no particular order).

Favourite movie and why? I have so many. I love As Good As It Gets because it shows you anything is possible, how eccentric our world is and to never give up on people.
